AND I SHOULD NOTE: My call to PayPal did not "go through" at one point. All I missed out on is the time I expended. 3.) Should something go awry, this fiasco established the record at this time and, PayPal has a hand in being directly involved and affirming all is well.

Some credit card companies offer this code 40 with hyphens and some show without hyphens 4029357733 like this. The exact reason for the call to me was not discovered but, going through this served to establish some things: 1.) PayPal had called. About 40: Whenever you purchase something online and make a payment through PayPal, the code 40 is issued by PayPal as a customer support phone number for your new charge, and this code is shown on your credit card and bank account statement. At this point, we said our farewells and parted telephone company. Anyway, she checked the records, saw that the last transaction I had made was last night, and that everything was copacetic. The background noise sounded like maybe she was in a call center. I was then connected with someone who identified herself as "Maria" something or other, who asked what she could do for me. This time, when the time came to punch in the code, I did so- and was asked by an automated operator why I had called- to which I replied, "PayPal called me!". I logged-in to my PayPal account and went through the procedure of obtaining this passcode, then called PayPal back, using the same phone number. My return call to this number confirmed this and, I was told I needed a 6-digit passcode to input before the phone conversation could proceed. After reading a few of the entries, I pretty much gathered that, in all likelyhood, the number was being used by PayPal.

I didn't know the identity of the caller, so I tried to find that out- and ended up here. This number appeared as a missed incoming call on my phone.

If so, you need to go update any accounts you pay online :)īank/credit cards have an expiration date for a reason.check yours now! Cheers! Again, check to see if it is something as simple as an expiration date on your card.

I am responsible for keeping my card information current! This was a courtesy of sorts on their part rather than charging the full amount of my payment and it "bounced" like a check does with insufficient funds.when the expiration on your card is past.the payments will not go through and you will have past due bills! PayPal and a couple other companies alerted me via email (with no links or phishing type information) that my card on file showed the expiration date was soon to "expire" and in order to keep auto-pay working I needed to securely log on my account and update the information. This "reminded" me I had not gone online yet and updated my accounts with the new card expiration date. Two of those accounts have "pinged" my bank with $1.00 charge to see if indeed the card had expired yet (my payments were due). I have auto-pay set up with some minor accounts online and my old card info was still showing in my accounts. My bank card recently expired (the expiration date) and my bank automatically sent me a new card with a new expiration date.
